Heather was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and had a childhood of growing up in many different cities across the U.S because of her father's job. Since she was always moving from school to school, Heather never really made any close friends growing  up. She consider high school as some of the worst years of her life. In high school she always felt that she didn't really know how to talk to people. She was teased by her class mates and considered a theater geek.

Her mother would drive her to Hollywood for auditions and Heather went from job to job, working as an usher at the Hollywood Bowl, landing various roles over the years in movies such as License to Drive and the critically acclaimed Drugstore Cowboy,and appearing on the popular television series Twin Peaks.

She went on to enroll at UCLA but dropped out after only two years to spend more time pursuing acting. For the next few years she appeared in various small roles. In 1996, she landed a part in the film Swingers, this showed a much more confident and grown-up person than her past as high school theater geek.

By the time 1997 rolled around, the now grown-up Heather played the part of the roller-skating girl in Boogie Nights, and that year she also had a apart in the movie Scream 2. Heather's career then began to skyrocket with acting roles in such movies as Lost in Space, Bowfinger, and the staring role in Austin Powers 2: the Spy Who Shagged me .

Heather is currently working on a few new movies and has modeling contract with Emanuel Ungaro.
