Angellika info

Show-stopping supermodel ANGELLIKA has been enchanting the fashion world for 11 years with her exotic looks and universal appeal.  She began her career in the competitive modeling industry as a “straight-sized” runway and catalogue model, but four years ago, as she developed into a well-proportioned curvaceous woman, like her mother and grandmother before her, Angellika moved into the young, growing plus-sized industry.  She is now represented by Ford modeling agency along with such superstars as Christie Brinkley and Rachel Hunter.  Angellika serves as a role model and an icon for so many women who aspire to feel comfortable in their bodies.

In April of 1999, Angellika was the first plus-sized model inducted into the Modeling Hall of Fame.  Angellika also stands out as the first African-American model to break into the German fashion scene in an Ulla Popken lingerie and casualwear shoot.  She has appeared three times as the MODE magazine cover girl and was the first cover model to have two consecutive covers in 1998.

Angellika considers her greatest accomplishment to be breaking into the editorial content of magazines such as MODE and Essence.  “I always knew there was a place for shapely women other than department store circulars,” says Angellika.  “I am proud to be able to open up the world of fine fashion to women who are not a skimpy size six.” Fans can also find Angellika’s fashion savvy influence in Sears, Target, Eaton’s, Lane Bryant and Talbot’s catalogues.

Angellika was born and raised in Washington D.C. and now splits her time between Washington and New York City. She graduated from The George Washington University with a degree in child psychology and enjoys spending her spare time on her side business and hidden passion, “Parties for Little Angels,” for which she plans theme parties for children.

Fans can look forward to seeing Angellika featured this spring on her new site on the world wide web (www.angellika.com) and as the official spokesmodel for the Gianfranco Ferre Spring 2000 plus-sized collection.
